So I finally published the website I’ve been working on. Hope you guys like it! (And I hope you also sign up for yoga classes – hehehe) I had so much fun making this. Somehow I feel like this is something I really want to be doing eventually, even if it’s just on the side. lf any of you need a website, just contact me! I’d love to make one for you.
www.mindlessrambling.com/at3am

(No, that title is not an actual webpage. I’m just trying to be clever. It’s not working. My mind is mush at this time. You’ll have to excuse me.)
Right now, it is 3 in the morning and the reason I am still up is because I’m trying to transfer a website from a subdirectory to the server’s root directory and it’s running into all these roadblocks. I’ve managed to get past a few, but I’m really stuck at this one point and after hours of trying to solve it, I am officially giving up for tonight, eyebags and all.
It was only last year that I discovered that I have a knack for web design. That is actually the main reason why I got this domain name in the first place. And well, I also thought (and was vain enough) that it would be cool to have a riaredulla.com too, but that’s besides the point.
I can’t illustrate or do graphics to save my life, so I rely on templates to help me in that department (and I just kinda mix and match and put this and that together… but I do put some of my own stuff from time to time). It’s the putting everything and connecting everything together that I really enjoy. It actually kinda reminds me of math, which is weird because I totally sucked math. There’s something about discovering a new love/passion that really gets me going. All of a sudden, I’ve been getting any reading material on web design I can get my torrent downloading platform’s figurative hands on. My stock knowledge on all of this is so limited, so I want to learn it all! And hopefully, I’ll also learn a thing or two about graphic design in the process.
I guess I’m just excited about all of this. This is the second website I’ve been paid to create and I’m really proud of this one – if only I could transfer it already and get it to go on live. On that note, word to the wise: don’t ever ever ever ever host your site on Yahoo Small Business. They have such crap customer service (they’ve never replied to my Help emails) and they’re SO outdated. Bluehost is still the way to go.
Anywho, it’s too late in the night to be making nonsense blog entries. Til next time when I get enough sleep.
(Sigh. I miss writing.)
100 DC: Day 16
Day 16 – A picture of someone who inspires you
(picking up where I left off)

There are many facets to this amazing man.
He is a loving father, a devoted husband, a good provider, a just disciplinarian, a wise teacher, a humble servant, a dependable brother, an obedient son, a faithful Christian, a passionate preacher, a gentle healer, a strong man, a brave protector, an inspiring role model.
He is the master of corny jokes, the wielder of both a Bible and a shotgun, the lion among his lionesses, the original afro man, the saint with a painful past, the sinner with a bright future, the political activist, the mentor to many.
As ferocious as a bear and as meek as a lamb. As wise as a guru and as curious as a child.
My father is one of the bravest men I have ever met or heard of. He has lived through experiences so painful that I can’t imagine myself living through them myself. And yet, he has come out on the other side of his life with genuine happiness and no regrets about anything.
He is my hero. Literally. Once when I was two, we were at a beach resort and I had jumped into a swimming pool without saying. With no hesitation, he jumped in right after me fully clothed (shades, cap and all), only to find out at the surface that I was already wearing inflatable arm floaters. He gave the magical Heimlich maneuver when I nearly died choking on a coin at four years old. He came to my rescue every time Roger broke down on me on the road. I can always count on him to be there for me when I need him the most.
My father taught my sisters and I a great number of things and with such variety. From types of bird calls to self-defense tactics to identifying parts of a rifle to billiard tricks. He enjoys the company of his wife and daughters to the point of falling asleep at the dinner table during our late-night talks. He is the standard and benchmark of what it is to be a father and a husband.
He is a generous person – whether it’s with his lunch or his hugs or his pearls of wisdom. He has given so much to others and has touched countless lives. He helps people without asking for anything in return and offers comfort even to strangers. He shows respect to everyone and everything, including people who do not deserve it. His anger may be frightening, but he is quick to forgive.
He doesn’t take himself too seriously and does not boast of anything. He does not care for titles and honors, but puts more importance on the difference he can make in this world. His day job is to help children get well again from their sicknesses. By night, he watches cartoons with his kids and laughs just as hard as the first time he watched them. As a sideline, he stands on a pulpit delivering the Gospel to the people. At the end of it all, his main purpose is to be a servant of God in the form of a father, a husband, a doctor and a brother to all.
I cannot think of a better person to have and call my father. Every time somebody asks me, “Anak ka ni Bebs?”, I always feel a swell of pride whenever I nod to say yes. There are many sides to my dad. To me, he’s my Daddy, and he’s everything I need for him to be.
Rolling with the homies.
My lady homies, that is.
Cliche it is, but sometimes a girl just really needs her girlfriends.
Since moving here on my own, it’s been a bit trickier to have quality time with my friends. Blame the distance between Manila and Cebu, blame Manila traffic and blame my tight budget (when I say tight, I mean tight). I’ll look on the bright side and tell myself that at least it will make the rare hangouts a lot more special. Still, there’s gotta be a way around it and I’m deadset on finding it. For now, these will have to do.
God is so good to have blessed me with girlfriends who are always there for me, who are as funny as they are intelligent, and who are wonderful and beautiful human beings inside and out. I only wish I saw more of them and more often.
I recently caught up with some of my favorite women and I hope to see more of my other girlfriends soon.
My First Trip to Hong Kong
This is a month overdue, but hey, there are just some things I need to document. My first trip to Hong Kong was nothing short of amazing. I had a wonderful time and I came home broke, but happy.
It was a long wait at the airport..

But before we knew it, we were boarding!

And not much longer, we were there…

A lot of our friends were in Hong Kong too, which was great.

We went to catch a phenomenal show.

…and hit a couple of parks.

I was glad to bring comfortable shoes because we walked a LOT.

We also rode the train a lot.
Hong Kong has a really amazing MTR system.

Not even the rain could stop us.

Everything was so pretty.

….and DELICIOUS.

We also had fun being idiots in public.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip.

Thank you, Hong Kong.
We’ll definitely be back.
P.S. The 3-Day Unlimited MTR Pass is sooooo sulit. I recommend this to all tourists.
P.P.S. The good thing about going in August is that everything is on sale.
P.P.P.S. The bad thing about going in August is that it’s summer in most parts of the world and the city is CAH-ROW-DEHED.
